Series A Launch
Mattermost provides flexible, open source messaging for enterprise clients that need the highest level of data security. They engaged Measure to help them launch their Series A and build a marketing plan that would help them meet their marketing objectives for this important next stage.
In order to kick off a successful Series A announcement, Mattermost needed to redefine their category and refresh messaging on their website to best attract security-conscious, enterprise customers. We first outlined a comprehensive marketing plan, creating lead-generating content to launch alongside a traditional press release and gathering customers who could speak to Mattermost’s value.
To capitalize on the momentum of the announcement and put a repeatable demand gen engine in place, Measure created a marketing plan based on Mattermost’s top KPIs and growth goals. This included paid advertising strategies, a foundational white paper that would drive conversion rates and lower the cost of acquisition, and supporting campaign content that would amplify the effect of our efforts.
Measure also worked with Mattermost’s leadership team to make recommendations on the marketing org structure, hire a PR team and assist with budget and headcount planning and referring candidates for several key new roles. This combination of high-level and tactical efforts contributed to a successful launch and growing pipeline of prospects.
Mattermost continues to see strong enterprise growth today. They announced their Series A (led by Redpoint) in February of 2019, followed by an additional $50 million in a Y Combinator-led Series B in June.
